My interest is to develop innovative technologies that are truly useful. Currently, I lead the development of Data Thinker and GLAD. Data Thinker, or D-thinker, is a super-fast big data engine, and GLAD is a product that significantly accelerates bioinformatic computation. I received B.S. from Fudan University (1996), M.S. from Peking University (2001), and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia (2006). In the past, I worked on large-scale distributed systems, cloud computing, computer networks, operating systems, wireless sensor networks, security and energy-efficient computing. In the academia, I worked as a faculty member at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and conducted research in cloud computing and big data systems. In the industry, I worked at Microsoft (Shanghai) and Google (Mountain View) to develop good technologies at that time. Now I am working with a group of young people to build better ones.
